The engineer - electric reliability in the electric engineering department reports to the General Manager Electric Engineering. Responsibilities include preparing MEC regulatory and governmental reliability related filings, developing and reporting MEC reliability goals, reporting MEC reliability data to BHE, analyzing and reporting on MEC reliability for management, providing reliability analysis for improvement initiatives and special projects, providing analysis and responses to reliability related data requests from multiple areas within and outside the MEC, responding to reliability related benchmarking studies and surveys, and participating in reliability related industry groups.
?Provide reliability analysis services for coordination and preparation of MEC reliability filings and data request responses required by state and federal regulatory and governmental authorities. (50%) Develop reliability goals and perform goal reporting for MEC, contribute to goal reporting for Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company, and prepare periodic reports on MEC goal performance. (20%) Analyze and provide reports on MEC reliability for management and to respond to industry surveys and benchmarking studies. (10%) Assist in development of and provide reliability analysis for improvement initiatives and special projects. Engineer II works with other departments, inter-departmental and inter-BHE platform company groups, and management in the development of reliability related initiatives. (10%) Analyze and respond to reliability related data requests from multiple areas within and outside of MEC. (5%) Keep informed of industry issues/technical trends and recommend and implement changes to benefit MidAmerican's business. (5%) Provide reliability related input as requested. Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Engineer I: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution. Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Engineer II: ?Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution. 1-3 years’ experience required. Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Sr. Engineer: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution. Five years of industry experience as a practicing engineer, and licensed PE preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
